Where Swiss Gold Meets the Chinese Market

When it comes to physical gold, there’s no getting around the Switzerland–China axis. Switzerland is the world’s largest exporter of refined gold; from January through June 2026 alone, 182 metric tons of gold bars (cast) were exported to China.

This makes China by far the most important buyer of Swiss gold. At the same time, China is also considered the world’s largest gold producer, with approximately 384 metric tons in 2025, and, together with India, ranks among the world’s largest gold consumers. A perfect combination.

This enormous volume doesn’t just exist on paper—it must be physically transported. This is where Shanghai comes into play. As one of the world’s most dynamic logistics hubs, the metropolis serves as one of Asia’s most important logistics and trading centers for precious metals via Pudong International Airport and the deep-sea ports of Yangshan and Waigaoqiao. For specialized logistics providers, this entails an enormous responsibility. The challenge is to deliver the uninterrupted flow of precious metals directly to Asian financial centers with Swiss precision and absolute security.

New Developments in the Precious Metals Industry

The Chinese precious metals market is changing at a rapid pace. Anyone who wants to succeed in this market must be familiar with the latest regulatory and structural trends:

  • The PGM Boom in Guangzhou: China is driving massive growth in the platinum group metals (PGM) sector. A major milestone was the launch of new platinum and palladium futures on the Guangzhou Futures Exchange (GFEX) in November 2025. This launch created the first platform through which all market participants can effectively hedge price risks. China’s PGM market is thus entering a new phase of development. Traditional drivers of demand are increasingly being supplemented by investments, hydrogen technologies, AI applications, and new trading instruments. As a result, demand for platinum group metals is expected to continue rising.
  • New VAT Rules Effective November 1, 2025: While standard trading on the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) continues to be subject to the existing VAT rules, there have been changes regarding the physical withdrawal of gold. The tax treatment of investment gold remains largely unchanged, while the allowable input tax credit on the procurement costs of gold jewelry manufacturers has been reduced from 13% to just 6%. This increases the tax burden on jewelry manufacturers, which may drive up the price of jewelry. This is expected to lead to a decline in demand for jewelry. However, as early as the first quarter of 2026, a 42% year-over-year increase in investment gold was observed, along with a decline in gold jewelry purchases.

  • Closer ties with Hong Kong: The physical connection between mainland China and Hong Kong is growing ever closer. The establishment of the Hong Kong Precious Metals Central Clearing Company (HKPMCC) and the construction of new vaults in Hong Kong (starting in the second half of 2026) will create a state-of-the-art logistical bridge. This will facilitate duty-free access to the Chinese market for international investors, improve China’s infrastructure for gold trading, and strengthen the role of the Shanghai Gold Exchange in the long term.

Who’s in Charge

To efficiently manage the flow of physical commodities, Shanghai has a highly specialized infrastructure of trading venues and information services. These entities fulfill different, clearly defined roles in the market:

What Is the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM)?

The SMM is China’s leading independent pricing platform and information source. It is considered a key resource for market analysis, price data, and industry news in the metals and mining sectors. Every day, the SMM publishes spot prices for over 300 price indices and price assessments, including base metals, precious metals, and rare earths. These serve as an important global reference for trade contracts.

What is the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE)?

The SHFE is the country’s leading futures exchange. Standardized futures contracts for gold, silver, and base metals are actively traded there to hedge against price fluctuations or to speculate on price changes. It enables price hedging and provides a regulated trading venue with standardized contracts and clearly defined trading rules.

What is the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE)?

Operating under the supervision of the People’s Bank of China, it regulates the physical market. The SGE is the world’s largest exchange for physical gold. This is where the official reference price for the Chinese domestic market is set. Due to the enormous volume of physical delivery and its own pricing mechanism, the SGE and the People’s Bank of China are gaining increasing influence over the global gold price.

A key event is the industry gathering centered around Shanghai Platinum Week (SPW). This event brings together industry leaders, traders, and investors and features a wide range of conferences, seminars, and exhibitions. Market trends, investments, and new technologies are discussed. SPW serves as an important platform for international cooperation and offers insights into the dynamic market and the technological advancements driving the future of this sector.

Our physical presence on the ground allows us to reliably support these international trade flows. This enables us to efficiently coordinate the key interfaces between mines, refineries, financial institutions, logistics providers, and trading partners. In this way, we provide our international clients with direct and transparent access to one of the world’s most active markets.

How Do Metal Futures Work?

Trading physical precious metals directly in large quantities is cumbersome and inefficient in practice. That is why the financial world uses standardized contracts: These contracts obligate buyers and sellers—provided the contract is held until maturity—to buy or sell a specific quantity of a precious metal at a predetermined price at a future date. These contracts are called metal futures. They legally specify the quantity, purity, and price at which the precious metal will be traded. In practice, these contracts serve two purposes:

  1. Speculation: Traders bet on rising or falling prices to make a profit.
  2. Hedging: Mining companies, refineries, or industrial buyers hedge against extreme price fluctuations. For example, if a market participant expects prices to fall (e.g., from USD 3,400 to USD 3,200 per ounce), a corresponding hedge using a futures contract protects against potential losses upon resale. The associated risk varies depending on the contract term and maturity date.

The logistical foundation: Most gold futures are closed out before maturity and are not physically delivered. However, behind the scenes, the futures exchanges require a highly efficient logistics network. Specialized partners must guarantee that the bars are physically available in the exchanges’ approved warehouses as soon as a contract matures for physical delivery.

Why Switzerland shapes the world of precious metals

When we think of Switzerland, chocolate, watches and perhaps banks come to mind. What many do not know: Switzerland is the global center of the gold processing. A large portion of the world’s mined gold finds its way here. Although no gold has been mined in Swiss soil since 1961 – when the last commercial gold mine in Ticino closed – a massive share of the world’s extracted precious metal passes through Switzerland. With a global market share of around 80% in the physical gold trade, Switzerland is one of the most important hubs of this valuable industry.

Where the world processes its Gold

In southern Ticino lies one of the most significant industrial clusters in the world. Around Balerna, Mendrisio, and Castel San Pietro are three of the four largest gold refineries worldwide. Together with a fourth player in Western Switzerland, they process up to 70% of the globally mined gold.

These “Big Four” stand for precision and reliability—mostly in the background, but with a global impact.

“Gold mostly moves invisibly, but in enormous quantities. This requires a perfectly coordinated interplay of logistics, security, and experience.”

– Claudio Berger, Brand Ambassador at Helveticor

A Location with History and Strategy

The fact that this industry developed in Switzerland is no coincidence. While Europe was marked by uncertainty in the 20th century, the country remained stable and neutral.

Switzerland’s major banks recognized this potential early on. In the post-war decades, institutions like Credit Suisse invested directly in the refineries (such as temporarily in Valcambi) to convert the precious metal directly on-site into standardized, globally tradable bars.

At the same time, the global center of the jewelry industry flourished in directly adjacent Northern Italy. Ticino thus became the ideal geographical and logistical bridge for this value chain. Today, this infrastructure still benefits from state-of-the-art security standards: Helveticor is positioned precisely for this reason with its own strategically important high-security vault directly in Balerna.

More Than a Store of Value

Gold is not only a symbol of stability, but also an indispensable technological raw material. Its properties make it essential for modern electronics—not out of prestige, but out of necessity.

Excellent conductivity & corrosion resistance: Unlike copper or silver, gold does not oxidize. Contacts remain permanently clean and conduct electrical signals absolutely free of interference, even at minimal voltages.

The heart of our everyday media: Every modern smartphone contains about 20 to 50 milligrams of gold. It is found in SIM cards, memory contacts, microprocessors, circuit tracks, and sensitive connectors. Without gold, our communication devices would be more unreliable and significantly shorter-lived.

From space travel to medicine: Due to its extreme durability, gold protects sensitive circuit boards in satellites from the extreme temperatures of space as well as from aggressive cosmic radiation. In medicine, due to its biocompatibility, it is used for implants, modern diagnostic rapid tests, and even in cancer research in the form of nanoparticles, where gold particles transport medications directly to tumors.

Since gold is imperishable, recycling plays an increasingly important role: today, around 200 grams of pure gold can already be recovered from a single ton of electronic waste.

Secure, Precise, Globally Networked

“I had the opportunity to get to know this world early on—back then in precious metals trading at Credit Suisse. What fascinates me to this day is the precision, the discretion, and the trust. Gold mostly moves invisibly, but in enormous quantities. This requires a perfectly coordinated interplay of logistics, security, and experience. Companies like us, Helveticor, ensure that these sensitive processes function smoothly and securely worldwide.”

– Claudio Berger

An Industry in the Background – With a Global Impact

Claudio Berger accompanies companies in this environment. In doing so, it becomes clear: it is not just about metal, but about relationships, millimeter-precise logistics, and uncompromising security. Trust is the actual currency of this industry.

A Logistic Quantum Leap in the Far East: Helveticor Establishes Physical Presence in the Heart of Southeast Asia

The tectonic plates of the global precious metals market are shifting irreversibly towards Asia, and Helveticor is operating at the forefront. On June 15, 2026, e marked a pioneering milestone with the official opening of our new strategically located branch in Singapore. This step is far more than a purely geographic expansion: it is a a strategic move that has now allowed us to tap into the three most important markets in Asia: Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.

The New Gravitational Center of the Global Precious Metals Trade

Singapore has developed into one of the world’s most powerful hubs for the custody and trade of physical precious metals in record time. The drivers behind this success are excellent regulatory frameworks: first and foremost, the exemption from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on investment-grade physical precious metals, paired with with changes in the field of vault infrastructure. Refineries, institutional investors, and state actors from all over the world deliberately utilize the city-state to direct international commodity flows of gold, silver, and platinum group metals in a legal, secure and transparent manner.

From our new operational hub, Helveticor seamlessly orchestrates highly sensitive value transports – from the initial customs declaration to high-security transport chains within Singapore, all the way to global distribution between the major primary markets.

The Institutional Foundation: The Key Role of SBMA, APPMC, and Industry Conventions

Singapore’s enormous relevance within the international framework is underscored by its resident institutions and high-caliber industry events. At the heart of the market is the Singapore Bullion Market Association (SBMA). Since its founding in 1993, it has secured and monitored compliance with the highest quality and compliance standards in the Asian region while actively driving market growth. The SBMA is the driving force that has shaped Singapore into a liquid, transparent, and globally esteemed marketplace.

An annual highlight gathering the global elite of the precious metals industry in the city-state is the Asia Pacific Precious Metals Conference (APPMC). As the leading platform in the APAC-Region (Asia-Pacific) the APPMC serves as a venue for strategic exchange regarding market changes, geopolitical risks, and technological innovations in secure logistics. This world-class ecosystem is complemented by major trade fairs such as the Asia Gold Convention, which specifically network B2B players, mints, and wholesalers to coordinate physical trade flows between Western financial centers and Asia’s gigantic consumer markets.

Helveticor has been firmly anchored in the network of these pioneering events for many years. With our new, dedicated location, we no longer participate merely as a regular conference attendee, but act as a permanent, physically present partner directly on-site.

Synergy of Stability: Swiss Precision Meets the "Switzerland of Asia"

The expansion is based on a deep alignment of core values. Due to its political neutrality, its strict rule of law, and its immense concentration of global banks and family offices, Singapore is rightfully referred to as the “Switzerland of Asia.” In a phase of global geopolitical turmoil and economic volatility, international capital seeks uncompromising security.

Both Switzerland and Singapore stand globally as synonyms for unwavering property protection, economic consistency, and supreme discretion. Helveticor is now bringing this proven Swiss DNA directly to Singapore. From this symbiosis, we create a measurable competitive advantage for our B2B clients: seamless transport security, absolute reliability, and highly efficient processing in one of the safest jurisdictions on earth.

Cultural Heritage and a Gigantic Boom: The Unstoppable Rise of the Gold Hub

Singapore is perfectly strategically positoned at the center of global gold flows, functioning as the decisive hinge to the massive consumer markets of India and China. While gold has been deeply rooted in Asian culture for generations as a stable store of value, an inflation hedge, and a traditional medium of exchange, Singapore is simultaneously experiencing a historic influx of institutional wealth. The city-state ranks among the top three globally for net millionaire inflows, driven by an unprecedented boom in family offices whose capital is increasingly migrating from Europe.

This massive surge in wealth demands physical safeguarding. The projections are clear: over the next three years, gold holdings in Singapore are poised to surpass the historic milestone of 1,200 tonnes. To logistically support this growth, the hub relies on ultra-modern high-security facilities capable of meeting even the stringent demands of foreign central banks storing sovereign gold reserves.

Tailored B2B Security Solutions at the New Hub

With its physical presence at Paya Lebar Square, Helveticor is significantly expanding its specialized service offerings in the Asia-Pacific region. Our core competencies on-site include:

  • High-security storage: Exclusive access to Singapore’s most advanced, ultra-secure vaulting facilities for value-retaining custody across generations.
  • Handling of international air and sea freight shipments: Seamlessly monitored and global transport concepts for highly sensitive goods.
  • Domestic secure logistics: Armored and perfectly coordinated transports within the city-state under the highest security precautions.
  • Specialized customs clearance: Smooth and highly efficient processing and declaration directly on-site by our own experts.
  • High-security storage: Exclusive access to Singapore’s most advanced, ultra-secure vaulting facilities for value-retaining custody across generations.

Through this permanent presence, we are deeply rooted in both local and international networks. As part of the traditional Swiss Planzer Group, we bring exactly the core values to Singapore that are most highly esteemed there: neutrality, absolute discretion, reliability, and a long-term perspective.

Helveticor unites the best of both worlds: Swiss reliability and Singapore’s world-class, future-oriented infrastructure. Experience B2B secure logistics on a whole new level – directly where the future of the precious metals market is being written.

Helveticor as a sponsor

For us at Helveticor, sponsorship is more than just a logo on a jersey. It is a commitment to the values we live every single day in high-security logistics: precision, reliability, and Swiss tradition. That is why we are actively involved in local sports this year.

Polo Masters

The absolute highlight of May 24: The Polo Masters, proudly presented by Helveticor as the sponsor of this exclusive evening event. The backdrop for this top-class format was the tradition-rich Zug Show Jumping Competition (Zuger Springkonkurrenz) at the Stierenmarkt grounds, which attracts hundreds of equestrian enthusiasts every year. In addition to the Masters, it features classic dressage riding and fascinating vaulting shows.

What are the polo masters?

Co-founded by Annette Fetscherin and Adrian Fuchs, the format relies on the visionary “Bridging Worlds” concept, where professional polo players and elite riders from show jumping and dressage compete together in teams. This connection fascinates us, because we also bridge worlds every day, linking Swiss values with global logistics flows.. This connection fascinates us, because we also bridge worlds every day, linking Swiss values with global logistics flows., Schweizer Werte und globale Logistikströme.

But why does polo fit Helveticor so perfectly?

The answer lies in the three pillars of success:

  • Tempo: In a match, every second counts. In our logistics, time is a critical safety factor. We optimize routes to deliver high-value assets to their destination with maximum efficiency and right on schedule.
  • Tactics: A polo match is won through strategic foresight. At Helveticor, we leave nothing to chance; every security concept is based on precise risk analysis.
  • Team Spirit: Polo is the ultimate team sport. At Helveticor, too, peak performance is the result of true team spirit. Our specialists, warehouse staff, and drivers work hand in hand to ensure an unbroken security chain.

From the Arena in Zug to Zermatt: Our Partner Benny

While we support the dynamics of top-tier sport in Zug, Swiss tradition is equally close to our hearts. A wonderful example of this awaits at the foot of the Matterhorn: Benny (derbenny.ch).

The majestic, iconic carriage horse is a true celebrity in car-free Zermatt. Whether handling freight transport or stylish event rides through the mountain scenery, Benny embodies exactly what defines us as a Swiss security logistics provider: endurance, absolute reliability, and the power to bring assets safely to their destination. As a proud company of the Planzer Group, we value strong, dependable connections across all transport routes. Where modern engines pause, Benny relies on honest, traditional horsepower. For us, this partnership is also a matter close to our hearts: we have already enjoyed the privilege of working directly alongside Benny and experiencing this unique Swiss reliability firsthand.

Commitment out of Conviction

Whether at the Stierenmarkt grounds in Zug, where the vaulters shone and the Polo Masters delivered pure adrenaline on Sunday evening or in the streets of Zermatt: horses fascinate us with their strength and elegance.

For Helveticor, this sponsorship is a logical step. We invest in the community, preserve Swiss values, and promote a sport that demands the exact same precision our customers expect from us.

The 2026 Polo Masters were a resounding success and a true highlight in the Swiss equestrian sports calendar. We look back with enthusiasm on a fantastic event and are already looking forward to being part of it again next year as a proud partner!

Secure storage of precious metals at the highest level

Precious metal storage in Switzerland today goes far beyond simple safekeeping—it determines whether physical assets remain protected, accessible, and controllable over the long term.

The biggest risks in precious metal storage

Anyone storing precious metals faces fundamental challenges that are often underestimated.

The most common risks include:

  1. Inadequate security systems
  2. Lack of control over access and inventory
  3. Non-transparent or undocumented processes
  4. Limited availability in critical situations
  5. Unclear responsibilities in transport and storage

These risks highlight one key fact: precious metal storage is not a passive activity, but a security-critical process.

What professional precious metal storage must deliver today

A modern high-security storage facility for precious metals must offer significantly more than traditional safekeeping solutions.

Key requirements include:

  • Multi-layered security architectures instead of isolated protection measures
  • Clearly defined, documented, and auditable processes
  • Full traceability of all inventory movements
  • Strict access controls and clearly assigned responsibilities
  • Integration of storage, handling, and transportation

Operational excellence is particularly evident in the details. Professional high-security facilities, for example, rely on controlled multi-person procedures such as the six-eyes principle, ensuring that sensitive access is only granted under strictly regulated conditions.

Cash in transition: stable usage, infrastructure under pressure

The latest payment methods survey by the Swiss National Bank shows a clear trend: Switzerland is becoming more digital – yet cash remains a stable pillar of everyday payments.

However, for businesses, this is not a reason for reassurance.
On the contrary: while usage remains stable, the physical cash infrastructure is increasingly under pressure:

  • fewer bank branches
  • fewer deposit options, such as ATMs
  • increasing complexity in operational processes

This leads to a new reality:

cash itself is no longer the challenge – its efficient organisation, and therefore logistics, is.

(Swiss National Bank (SNB), payment methods survey 2025, p. 3)

This chart shows that cash continues to account for a significant share of in-person payments despite increasing digitalisation.

Cash remains a relevant part of the payment mix

In 2025, cash is still used for around 30% of all in-person payments (SNB, 2025). It remains a key component of daily transactions, alongside debit cards and mobile payment solutions.

At the same time, cash continues to play an important role for many people:
a large share of the population carries cash or keeps reserves at home or in safes.

For businesses, this means:

cash is not disappearing – it remains a relevant customer need.

The real shift: availability

While payment behaviour is only changing slightly, the underlying infrastructure is shifting significantly.

Satisfaction with access to cash is declining – only 81% of the population remains satisfied, while more people report insufficient access points (SNB, 2025).

A key driver of this development is the decreasing number of ATMs.

This has direct implications for businesses:

  • cash becomes harder to access
  • access routes become longer in terms of time and security
  • supply is less widespread and no longer guaranteed

as a result, cash is increasingly becoming a logistical challenge.

(Swiss National Bank (SNB), payment methods survey 2025, p. 6)

This chart illustrates that satisfaction with access to cash is declining and that the infrastructure is increasingly under pressure.

Cash remains critical for business continuity

A particularly important aspect from a business perspective is the role of cash as a backup system:

“In around half of all payment disruptions, cash is used to complete transactions” (SNB, 2025).

This clearly shows:
cash is not only a means of payment, but also a key element of operational resilience.

(Swiss National Bank (SNB), payment methods survey 2025, p. 7)

This chart shows that a large share of the population deliberately holds cash reserves, particularly for unexpected situations or technical disruptions.

Especially in industries with direct customer interaction – such as retail, hospitality, and events – cash can make a critical difference, particularly in high-frequency transaction environments.

(Swiss National Bank (SNB), payment methods survey 2025, p. 4)

This chart highlights that cash continues to play a central role, particularly in hospitality, smaller retail businesses, and service sectors.

Increasing requirements for businesses

At the same time, handling cash is becoming more demanding.

Businesses are mainly facing two key challenges:

  • rising costs of cash handling
  • increased security requirements (SNB, 2025)

In addition, operational hurdles are growing:
deposits are becoming more complex, processes more demanding, and planning more resource-intensive.

the consequence:
cash remains essential – but must be managed more efficiently.

What this means for cash logistics

The developments are clear:

the focus is shifting from the question “do we need cash?” to:

“how do we manage cash professionally?”

Businesses need solutions that:

  • ensure reliable cash supply
  • simplify processes
  • keep costs under control
  • and minimise security risks

This is where cash logistics becomes strategically important.

Managing cash efficiently – with the right solutions

The SNB findings clearly show:
cash remains relevant, but the requirements for managing it are increasing.

Global wealth security in transition

The question of the safest financial centre in the world is as old as global capital markets themselves – yet rarely has it been as relevant as it is today.

Geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, developments in real estate markets and regulatory changes are prompting wealth holders to rethink their strategies – increasingly turning towards proven stability.

Global shifts: from growth to uncertainty

Just a few years ago, Dubai was considered one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly emerging financial centres. A high quality of life and a vibrant environment attracted family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs).

Recent developments, however, demonstrate how quickly this perception can change:

  • Geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have led to tangible security concerns
  • International banks have partially evacuated staff from the region
  • Real estate markets are under pressure, with prices declining significantly in some areas
  • Capital is beginning to leave the region

Platforms such as Inside Paradeplatz also report a noticeable downturn in Dubai’s real estate market, further undermining investor confidence.

This dynamic highlights a key insight:

👉 A financial centre is only as secure as its political, legal and economic stability.

The return of stable financial centres

In times of global uncertainty, a clear shift back towards traditionally secure financial centres can be observed.

Switzerland stands at the forefront – but it is not alone. Asian financial hubs are also gaining strategic importance, particularly:

  • Singapur
  • Hong Kong

According to international media reports, including Reuters, family offices and UHNWIs are increasingly relocating capital from the Gulf region to stable jurisdictions.

At the same time, demand for multi-jurisdictional wealth structures is rising, enabling targeted diversification of political risk.

Secure financial centres compared

Switzerland: the long-term anchor of stability

For over a century, Switzerland has been regarded as one of the safest financial centres worldwide:

  • Political neutrality
  • Strong rule of law
  • Stable currency (CHF)
  • Extensive experience in managing global wealth

For many family offices, it remains the central anchor of their wealth structures.

Singapore: Asia’s emerging safe haven

Over the past two decades, Singapore has established itself as a leading financial hub in Asia:

  • Political stability and efficient governance
  • Clear and transparent regulatory framework
  • Strong focus on wealth management and family offices
  • Strategic location within Asia

Singapore is widely seen as a key gateway for wealth with exposure to Asian markets.

Hong Kong: a financial hub with geopolitical complexity

Despite political changes, Hong Kong remains a major financial centre:

  • Direct access to Chinese markets
  • Highly developed capital markets
  • Strong financial infrastructure

At the same time, Hong Kong is now assessed more cautiously, particularly in light of geopolitical considerations.

Physical assets in focus: rethinking security

A clear global trend is emerging:

👉 Wealth is becoming more physical again.

In an environment shaped by digital risks, geopolitical uncertainty and potential capital controls, the storage of precious metals and other tangible assets is gaining importance.

For family offices, this means:

  • Reduced counterparty risk
  • Independence from the banking system
  • Direct ownership of real assets
  • Long-term resilience across generations

Helveticor: security across generations

In this environment, specialised infrastructure is becoming increasingly important.

Helveticor combines the stability of the Swiss financial centre with tailored solutions for global wealth protection.

High-security storage for precious metals

  • Storage in highly secured facilities
  • Protection against geopolitical and systemic risks
  • Direct ownership of physical gold, silver and other precious metals

Especially in volatile environments, physical precious metals offer a proven store of value.

International secure transport

  • Discreet and secure relocation of assets worldwide
  • Designed specifically for family offices and UHNWIs
  • Minimisation of logistical, regulatory and security risks

In a globalised world, the secure mobility of wealth is becoming a key strategic factor.

Conclusion: stability is not an option – it is a strategy

Current developments in the Middle East and other emerging financial centres clearly demonstrate:

👉 Short-term attractiveness does not replace long-term stability.

For modern family offices, this results in a clear strategic direction:

  • Diversification across established financial centres such as Switzerland, Singapore and Hong Kong
  • Combination of liquid and physical assets
  • Focus on security, control and long-term value preservation

Helveticor supports exactly this approach – with solutions that not only manage wealth, but protect and secure it sustainably on a global scale.

Millimetre precision instead of guesswork. When flexibility becomes a security issue

The transport of valuables rarely follows standard procedure. Different goods, requirements, routes, pick-up points and destination addresses always require the right transport solution. Inadequate adaptation can lead to delays, planning uncertainties or interruptions in the process. Flexible planning is particularly important in the high-security sector.

We show why precise planning, variable application options and a precisely coordinated interaction between vehicle, technology and personnel are crucial to ensuring that valuable shipments reach their destination safely, reliably and on time.

When standard solutions suddenly no longer suffice

Many traditional transport providers work with fixed vehicle types, standardised processes and limited applications. The problem is that the transport of valuables is rarely standardised. Different weight classes, sensitive goods, variable locations and changing security requirements require solutions that adapt to every situation.

Without this flexibility, operational risks arise. A vehicle that is too small, a lack of technical safety equipment or insufficient escort capacity can lead to transport operations needing to be re-planned, delays or security risks. Precision therefore does not begin on the road, but in the preparation of each individual job.

The importance of choosing the right vehicle

The transport of valuables is only as efficient as the vehicle carrying it out. Our fleet ranges from 3.5-tonne vehicles to 26-tonne lorries. In this way, we ensure that every transport volume, every weight and every logistical requirement can be met precisely.

Depending on the order, the appropriate technical equipment is used to secure the goods being transported in the best possible way. This is complemented by modern means of communication that make transport routes transparent and facilitate coordination. This combination of variety and technical equipment makes it possible to provide the right vehicle solution for every job while ensuring efficiency and reliability at the same time.

when staff not only drive, but also take responsibility

Technology alone is not enough. The decisive factor is who accompanies the transport operation. Our teams are put together specifically and appropriately for each job in order to make the processes efficient and structured.

Our personnel are prepared to escort the transport operation professionally, implement routines efficiently and make decisions appropriate to the situation, adapted to the traffic, environment and job. In this way, we ensure that both the vehicle and the team are perfectly matched to the requirements. The result is professional procedures, clear roles and controlled processes.

Why planning and precision decide every metre

Each transport operation is carefully prepared in advance. All relevant organisational and logistical aspects are taken into account to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The aim is to consider the key factors before the start of the journey and to systematically minimise risks.

We take potential adjustments into account during the planning stage, define decision-making paths and ensure that structures are in place to act even in the event of unexpected circumstances. This structured preparation results in stable, reliable and clearly controlled processes. In this way, even complex or short-notice transport operations can be carried out safely without compromising quality, security or on-time delivery.

When precision builds trust

Companies that have valuables transported want absolute security, control and reliability. They want to know that their assets are not only being moved, but also professionally protected. This is exactly where our approach comes in: precise planning, flexible application options, coordinated vehicle technology, qualified personnel and maximum operational control.

The result is a transport concept that not only works, but also builds trust. Valuables reach their destination reliably, securely and on time. Regardless of scope, sensitivity or security level.

Precision that makes safety measurable

Flexibility in the transport of valuables not only means choice, but responsibility. The combination of a variable vehicle fleet, coordinated security technology, qualified personnel and thorough organisational preparation ensures that each transport operation is tailored precisely to the job at hand.

If you are looking for a partner who not only drives but also plans security in a structured way, actively minimises risks and takes responsibility, you will find in us a solution that combines precision and security, from the initial planning to the final handover.

Acting sustainably, protecting valuables – an apparent contradiction?

For many companies, the idea of CO₂-reduced transport raises the concern that savings in emissions could come at the expense of security or efficiency. Every decision is critical, especially when it comes to transporting valuables such as cash, precious metals or confidential documents. Compromised transport can not only result in financial losses, but also damage the trust of your business partners.

At Helveticor, we demonstrate that sustainability and security are not mutually exclusive. Through careful planning, modern technologies and optimised fleet processes, both goals can be achieved at the same time. Environmental responsibility and the highest security standards are equally important to us, and both are consistently implemented in every order.

What are the risks associated with conventional transport methods?

Many traditional transport solutions focus on speed and cost optimisation without taking the carbon footprint into account. Not only can this be problematic for the environment, it can also have a negative impact on your company’s sustainability profile. At the same time, there is a risk that vehicles won’t meet all safety requirements, which can lead to delays or losses.

Companies looking for ESG-compliant partners need to ensure that environmental as well as social and governance aspects are taken into account. For us, this includes not only the use of sustainable fuels and modern vehicle technology, but also the long-term development and training of our employees.

Reducing CO₂ without compromise – myth or reality?

Our transport operations are specifically planned to reduce CO₂ emissions. By switching our entire vehicle fleet to HVO100 diesel, we have been able to reduce the CO₂ emissions of our delivery vehicles by up to 30%. HVO100 is a sustainable fuel made from renewable raw materials, virtually free of pollutants and yet fully efficient.

Each route is analysed in advance to find the perfect balance between energy efficiency, security and delivery speed. Thanks to intelligent route planning, we avoid empty runs and reduce emissions without compromising the smooth running of your transport operations. In this way, our customers can rest assured that their valuables are not only protected, but also transported in an environmentally responsible manner.

ESG verified: trust instead of empty promises

At Helveticor, we don’t just pay lip service to sustainability. Our carbon footprint and strategy for reducing emissions are reviewed annually and certified with the Silver Certificate by Swiss Climate. This quality seal confirms that our measures are independently validated, transparently documented and demonstrably effective.

In addition, we take a holistic approach to ESG principles: environmentally friendly means of transport, fair and targeted employee training and cross-generational corporate management. Through these measures, we meet the increasing demands of our customers for sustainable high-security logistics and demonstrate that responsibility and operational efficiency go hand in hand.

From the road to the forest: making sustainability visible

For us, sustainability doesn’t end on the road. We are actively involved in reforestation projects and long-term forest management in Switzerland. This means that over 7279 hectares of forest are managed ecologically, CO₂ is captured and regional value chains are supported.

We also use locally produced energy from sustainable forestry and consistently focus on energy efficiency in our operational buildings, for example through LED lighting and modern heating systems. In this way, we combine global climate responsibility with immediate regional benefits.

Transparency that really makes a difference

A key aspect of sustainability is measurable and traceable transparency. Helveticor fully records Scope 3 emissions, i.e. indirect emissions along the supply chain. Our certified CO₂ reporting covers all modes of transport – road, rail, air and sea.

This allows companies to make informed decisions, make optimisations and achieve their ESG goals without compromising on security or efficiency. Sustainability is therefore not only visible at Helveticor, but actively integrated into operational planning.

Your valuables, our green standard

CO₂-reduced transport does not have to mean compromising on security or efficiency. We combine modern technologies, sustainable fuels, certified climate strategies and regional responsibility to ensure safe and environmentally friendly transport.

If you want to protect your valuables, minimise risks and at the same time protect the environment, Helveticor is a partner that makes sustainability measurable and integrates it into every transport operation. Your investments are not only escorted securely, but also sustainably – from collection to delivery.

Why security is the top priority when transporting valuables

National security transport is one of the most challenging tasks in the logistics sector. Customers who transport cash, precious metals, jewellery, data carriers or other valuable goods rightly expect structured processes, reliability and high process quality. A successful transport operation not only means that the goods arrive safely at their destination, but also that risks are identified at an early stage and systematically minimised.

It is our job to ensure this safety, consistently and reliably. Every order follows clearly defined processes and quality standards. For us, one thing is certain: security is not an add-on, but the core of any operation involving the national transport of valuables.

Modern vehicle fleet for maximum security

The basis for secure transport is a professional vehicle fleet. Our vehicles are regularly serviced and kept to a high technical standard. In this way, we ensure that they reliably meet the operational requirements of demanding transport operations.

The equipment in our vehicles supports smooth coordination and stable communication throughout the entire transport process. This allows processes to be controlled efficiently and deviations to be detected at an early stage, so that the valuable goods are reliably escorted throughout the entire transport route.

Qualified personnel for demanding transport operations

In addition to technology, personnel are crucial for the security of transport operations involving valuables. Our drivers have in-depth experience in handling sensitive transport orders and are specifically prepared for the operational requirements.

The focus is on safe workflows, responsible action and reliable teamwork. In this way, we ensure that transport operations are carried out professionally and that your valuables are reliably escorted at all times.

Real-time monitoring for seamless control

A central component of our transport processes is the ongoing monitoring of all orders by our control room. This allows us to maintain an overview of operational processes and react flexibly if necessary.

This centralised control ensures that the highest security standards are met even with complex or short-notice transport operations. Customers can rest assured that their valuables will be safely escorted at all times, from the pick-up location to handover at the destination.

Risk analysis and systematic minimisation

Security is more than technology and personnel: it is based on careful planning and early analysis of potential risks. For every order, we check all relevant factors in advance: the route, time window, traffic situation and potential hazards.

This structured preparation enables us to design stable workflows and implement reliable transport processes. In this way, we combine forward planning with a high degree of process reliability and operational flexibility.

Why you shouldn’t compromise when it comes to transporting valuables

Trust is crucial for our customers. They want to be sure that their valuables are in professional hands. We create this trust through clearly defined processes, transparent workflows and continuous communication. This allows customers to keep track of the progress of their transport operation at all times.

Our approach combines technology, training, planning and monitoring to create a holistic security concept. The result is a service that customers can rely on – whether it’s routine transport or complex special operations.

Trust through professionalism and transparency

Secure transport requires the perfect combination of state-of-the-art technology, trained personnel, precise planning and continuous control. Helveticor consistently applies these principles to ensure maximum security for your valuables.

If you are looking for a partner you can rely on in all situations, we offer professional security that builds trust and minimises risks. We don’t just transport your valuables, we escort them safely – from start to finish.
